High-Barrier PBS Biobased Coated Paper Replaces PFAS in Fast-Food Wraps
A new grade of PBS biobased coated paper has been launched to address growing regulatory pressure against per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in food contact materials.
A new grade of PBS biobased coated paper has been launched to address growing regulatory pressure against per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in food contact materials. The coating formulation achieves oil and grease resistance at levels comparable to fluorinated treatments, while remaining free from intentionally added PFAS. The paper is suitable for burger wrappers, sandwich sheets, and bakery liners. In addition to its biobased content exceeding 70%, the coated paper is certified for industrial composting and repulpable in standard paper recycling mills.
